Fr. Roddy McAuley of St. Peter's, Daliburgh will lead a Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes from 10th to 26th July 2008.

The purpose of the pilgrimage is to care for the sick who will be travelling to Lourdes from Scotland. This means helping in the hospital and tending to the general needs of sick people such as pushing wheelchairs, assisting at meal-times, taking them shopping and accompanying them to Mass and other services.

The days are long in Lourdes but as we work in two shifts there is time off each day. The work is enjoyable and rewarding.Lourdes

While in Lourdes you will meet people from all over the world, from all walks of life, from all faiths and none. There are able-bodied people and some very sick people. There are thousands of young people in Lourdes who will be caring for the sick just like you.

After Lourdes there will be a few days' holiday in France. As next year is the 150th anniversary of Lourdes there will be great celebrations and more visitors than normal. Demand for places on the pilgrimage will be high and it will be "first come, first served" so contact Fr. Roddy to book your place:

Lourdes is different from anything else you will ever experience. It is life-changing. It is rewarding and fulfilling. There will be plenty of laughing.......and crying too!

All-inclusive cost is £400 and the minimum age for participation is 16.
